The Human Resources Department is available to support management and employees, in order to attract, develop and retain a diverse and competent work force that reflects and protects the high standards of the public we serve in a cost effective manner.
The Human Resources Department provides centralized personnel and employment services to all City and KPU departments/divisions including, among other things, employee recruitment and selection; establishing and maintaining job descriptions and the employee performance evaluation system; administering the compensation plan; developing and administering personnel policies and procedures; ensuring compliance with state and federal labor laws; assisting managers with grievance resolution and disciplinary actions; serving as a member of all collective bargaining teams; overseeing safety programs; managing employee recognition programs and maintaining employee records.
