Museums - Teacher Resources

We offer a variety of activities and crafts to connect students of all grade levels to museums, history and culture. Class visits are FREE throughout the school year but we do ask for a two-week advance notice.

We’re happy to create a program for your group at either facility:

~  The Totem Heritage Center preserves and displays original 19th Century totem poles. Learn about the culture of Ketchikan’s first people and traditional Native Alaskan art.

~  Tongass Historical Museum exhibits focus on local history and art, and change throughout the year. Field trip activities are exhibit-specific.

Contact the Programs staff to learn about educational programs or call us at 225-5900.
